All is right with the world; the cat has found a proper spot in which to sunbathe!

How adorable is she?

We are slowly getting unpacked… STILL! Is it supposed to take this long?! I guess we are just lazy…. er, erm… busy. To be fair, I’ve started working in full capacity as new promotion at work (in addition to still being a regular, full time EMT-B 36-hours a week!) and getting my feet under me with all those projects has taken up the bulk of my free time. I also have my first day of instructing coming up next weekend at the SFPA which is very, very, VERY exciting! From a career perspective, I feel like things are sort of “blowing up” in a good way. It’s a really nice feeling to have my talents recognized and called out of the blue to work on special projects. Humbling and exciting. Although I kind of worry if everything is heading in the right direction- am I staying on target, going towards the direction where I ultimately want to be? Hopefully!

Projects for this weekend include moving furniture around to see where we like everything. We’ve got a couch, a bunch of rugs (thanks, Mom!) and bookshelves- now where to arrange them all? I’m sure Earl is going to love moving them around to various positions while we decide if that’s where they look best :P I’m also “DEEP CLEANING” the new place tomorrow since hanging up curtains and shelves created a lot of fine dust. You know who also is getting a DEEP CLEANING? The dog! He’s getting a bath and a brushing tomorrow.

So anyways- not too many dramatic updates here. Life swinging along as normal but busy at work and trying to get settled into the new place. We are going away for a beach week to North Carolina in about three weeks which I am very excited about! Linus will be staying with my Aunt and Uncle. This will be our first “real vacation” in…. two years? At least, the first one that’s more than a weekend. I can’t wait to park my butt in the sand while simultaneously consuming a frozen beverage. Oh, and my entire family (parents, sisters, nieces, nephews, etc) will be there at the same time, so that’s sorta exciting as well. But… you know… way more excited about the beach and the frozen drink ;)

Cheers and have a good weekend!
