My annual gifts will continue: each time I'm in the mall all the change in my wallet goes into the Salvation Army kettle, gifts for less fortunate children through Toy Mountain, mittens for the Snowsuit Fund.

I am soooo inspired to do something to help others this holiday season; in fact I've been thinking a lot about this and I think the reason I can't get into the holiday spirit is because there are so many "have's" and "have not's" I see in my neighborhood and I want to help the have not's. Still working on that.

We volunteered one Thanksgiving to deliver food to shut its. I will never forget it. I thought we were "gracing" them but I got graced by them; their attitude, their gratitude. It was a very humbling experience.

We need to help others as much as we can. I have to go out this weekend and buy the football to wrap up as a gift from dad in prison to his 6-year-old. I'll donate food to our food bank at church and buy gifts for the foster kids I encourage. And I'll gratefully donate money at the grocery store to feed others.

but what we need to remember is we need to continue some of these efforts after the holiday season..................
